Once upon a time, there was a dog named Maisie. She belonged to a family that didn’t care much for her. All they wanted from her was to have puppies. They thought she was ugly and useless because she couldn’t get pregnant.

Poor Maisie! Her family decided she was too ugly to keep around. They even thought it was too expensive to feed her. So, they made a cruel decision. They wanted to put her to sleep, just because they didn’t find her pretty.
Maisie’s life wasn’t easy. She lived in an outdoor kennel, all alone most of the time. She didn’t get much love or attention from humans. It’s sad to think about how lonely she must have felt.
But one day, things started to change for Maisie. A kind-hearted person noticed her plight and decided to rescue her. They took her in and gave her the love and care she deserved.
After being rescued, Maisie had an operation called spaying. It was then that the doctors found out she was very sick. Maisie had a severe infection called pyometra. If she hadn’t been spayed, she could have gotten even sicker and maybe even died.
Thankfully, Maisie’s life took a turn for the better. She was adopted by someone who truly cared for her. Now, Maisie has been with her new family for over four years, living happily ever after.
