In our story, Neil, the golden-furred Pittie mix, had a tough start in life. Before he found a place called home, he faced some really hard times in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Someone wasn’t nice to Neil and hurt him with something very hot, like the end of a cigarette, leaving him with painful burns. This kind of hurt is something no living thing should ever go through.
This part of Neil’s journey is sad but very important because it shows us just how brave Neil truly is. Despite being hurt, Neil kept a gentle heart.
When Neil was taken to a safe place known as Companion Animal Alliance, he was different from the other dogs. He didn’t bark or make much noise. He was very quiet, which made him stand out.
The boy and his mom chose Neil without knowing his full story. They saw a gentle dog who needed someone to love him. But when they learned about the hurtful burns Neil had, their hearts grew even more full of love for him.
